ADAS Sensing Engineer (2019)

  • Responsible for choosing the most appropriate sensors for an ADAS application
  • Algorithms development for target tracking, fusion and situational assessment
  • Algorithms development for environmental modeling for various ADAS (and limited environment Autonomous Driving)  functions
  • Data analysis and tools development for sensor processing and visualization
  • Perform bench simulation and testing
  • Completes validation of sensor system requirements
  • Provides technical leadership for projects incorporating complex electromechanical (“Mechatronic”) systems
  • Help in development of ADAS functions, diagnoses and corrects deficiencies in designs and prototypes
  • Uses rapid prototyping tools for system development
  • Interfaces simulation models with hardware-in-the-loop setups
  • Stays abreast of new ADAS technology, sensors, functions, etc




MAJOR: Mechanical, Software or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in Sensor Systems



  • At least 2 years of ADAS Sensing job experience is required
  • Experience with ADAS sensors systems: camera, radar, lidar, ultrasonic is required.
  • Experience in ROS, MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++/Python (and data structures) is required.
  • Familiar with probability theory, linear algebra, state estimation, etc.
  • Understand autonomous system (sensors, actuators, software system etc).



  • Experience in Sensor Fusion is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Vision Processing and Machine Learning / Deep Learning knowledge is desirable.
  • Knowledge of system safety, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and Human Machine Feel (particularly Steering Feel) is a plus.
  • General competency and experience in vehicle dynamics, mechanical systems, electronic systems, and computer hardware and software is preferred.
  • Understand robotics algorithms (Perception, Localization, etc) is a plus.
  • Experience with automatic embedded code generation tools such as the Mathworks toolsets (MatLab, Simulink,Real Time Workshop, Autocode Generation, Embedded Coder) is preferred.
  • Background in automotive engineering and chassis systems (steering, braking, suspension) is desirable.
