Job Summary:

The Global Talent Management leader serves as the end to end talent consultant working in close partnership with the global and local talent acquisition, talent management, and learning & development teams, HR Business Partners, and Business leaders to drive talent priorities in alignment with our corporate strategy. This position must be able to think big and challenge conventional wisdom and practices to lead organization-wide efforts using research, analysis, consultation and data-driven recommendations for talent management practices.  This role shall measure the impact of solutions against clear metrics and leverage technology as a key enabler in becoming "best practice" as an organization. This position requires strong influencing skills, and the confidence and competence to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

This position reports to the Director of Global Talent Management and Corporate HR.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the CHRO, Global and Divisional HR Directors, and functional leaders to determine critical talent priorities and programs that need to be designed.
  • Provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the talent management processes (such as talent planning and enablement, leadership development and succession management, performance management and retention strategies) required to achieve business goals and result in the creation of an internal bench of top talent.
  • Collect, analyze and maintain aggregate data and translate those data into insights that drive targeted development and retention strategies (e.g., attrition, talent assessment, performance management, succession planning) and programs in cooperation with business unit HR functions.
  • Assist in developing and managing the evaluation, tracking and reporting of talent management metrics. Research benchmark data to ensure tracking aligns with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with the learning and development and internal communications teams in the development of training programs and materials that focus on enabling the workforce to achieve improvements with priority organizational concerns.
  • Develop, initiate and maintain effective programs for workforce retention, promotion and succession planning. Ensure programs are developed to support a streamlined and scalable user experience of key people processes across the organization. 
  • Train local HR teams in support of implementation of global strategies and processes as needed to ensure alignment with corporate objectives. 
  • Build effective partnerships with all levels to gain thorough understanding of needs and impact to business as well as to define collaborative solutions and effective change management strategies.
  • Lead global projects, task teams, workshops, trainings and other events to engage talent management personnel as well as business partners in global talent management activities.
  • Collaborate with global HRIS project teams to improve and automate key talent management procedures. 
  • Approach work with a mindset of continuous improvement, collaboration, customer focus, flexibility, positivity and engagement across the team.

 

A successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of:

  • Systems Thinker. Understand all the connections and integration points through the entire talent management & HR lifecycle.
  • Data Driven Insights. Form hypotheses about talent management topics, and then set out to prove or disprove them with experiments and careful data collection.
  • Prioritization. There will be a constant flow of work, both tactical and strategic. Determine what gets done first and why, while managing a plan for what to do with everything else.
  • Bias for Action and Dealing with Ambiguity. Sometimes it is not clear how we are going to get there. Can you help carve a path? How fast can you do it? What are the tradeoffs? Take risks and be willing to try new things, fail fast and iterate.
  • Thinking Big. How do we build it bigger, better, faster? What aren’t we thinking of?

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related.  Masters preferred.
  • 7+ years of professional experience in Talent Management / Human Resources Development, or related, with experience in a global environment preferred.
  • Experience in Performance Management, Succession Planning, Talent Assessment, and Leadership & Employee Development
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills
  • Strong team orientation and collaboration skills
  • High learning agility
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Results-driven and accountable with strong attention to detail
  • Strong presentation skills with superior verbal and written communication
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability for data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to travel between Auburn Hills and Saginaw on a regular basis
  • Ability to travel globally when necessary across North America, EMEA-SA and Asia Pacific

 

Considered a Plus:

  • HRIS – Knowledge of SuccessFactors preferred
  • Data analytics platforms – PowerBI preferred
  • Additional certifications in HR/Talent Management
  • Additional language skills
