The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.


Job Duties:

  • Identify solutions, research answers and troubleshoot technical issues and questions
  • Guide employees through corrective steps and recommend devices, updates and techniques
  • Triage and escalate incidents, support and service requests within Service Anywhere (help desk solution)
  • Keep knowledge articles, websites, media players and other references up-to-date
  • Follow up and provide feedback on incident progress, pending updates and statuses
  • Participate in on the job learning opportunities and building personal networks
  • Refine documentation and processes by reviewing metrics and knowledge articles
  • Continuous improvement and documentation of Technology center processes, communications and practices


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to problem solve both independently and collaboratively
  • Process IT interest and knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal, non-verbal and listening skills
  • Interested in desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems and network connectivity
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast pace environment
  • Customer service skills and knowledge
  • SharePoint knowledge preferred but not required


Position Requirements

  • Working toward Bachelor of Science or Business Administration in the field of computer science, business administration or related discipline
  • Must have above 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must attend local university to the Auburn Hills location of Nexteer Automotive
  • Strong organizational and customer interaction skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits)
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
