Electrical Systems Engineer (m, f, d)
Location: Wolfsburg
Mission(s) & Key Responsibilities
• Act as the primary electrical engineering interface to the customer for new business opportunities, electric power steering application projects or steer-by-wire developments.
• Responsible to manage, interpret and analyze electrical and electronic EPS system and customer specifications.
• Lead application specific Electrical Product Development Team (EPDT).
• Responsible for system electrical specification shared with the customer • Write system, subsystem and function specifications.
• Support E/E core development to meet customer expectation and future technology trends
• Guide development on new solutions to improve system availability and robustness with software and hardware solutions
• Support and develop cost reduction solutions
• Maintain subsystem (controller, motor etc.) project timelines to meet overall program timing.
• Coordinate controller change management: samples, vehicle testing, validation, etc..
• Coordinate software and calibration timeline, testing and release activities
• Debug, analysis and problem solving of system, communication, diagnostic and functional implementation failures
• Support Diagnostic implementation and testing per customer requirements
• Support Hardware in the Loop Testing at Nexteer and the customer
Qualification Required Required
• Electrical engineering degree
• 2+ years of electrical experience
• Educational focus in design/development of electrical systems in hardware and software
• Familiarity in power electronics and electrical machines
• Experience with automotive electronics and communication protocols (FlexRay and CAN)
• Experience in Matlab Simulink simulations and models
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills Preferred
• Experience in C programming language
• Experience with automotive diagnostic tools like CanOE, CanAPE
• Experience in automotive embedded controller systems
• Familiarity with electromagnetic compatibility issues
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR requirements and implementation process
• Familiarity with HIL testing for automotive applications
