The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. Job Requisition Introductory Paragraph:

Job responsibilities include learning and developing the tools for high frequency electromagnetic simulations, maintaining and documenting new design rules for printed circuit boards, and aiding in the analysis of competitor systems.  Duties include supporting testing at the electromagnetic compatibility lab by utilizing the test instrumentation and performing data analysis on the test results

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Learn and become proficient with HyperLynx Advanced Solvers for the analysis of electromagnetic effects on printed circuit boards (PCB)
  • Develop models of electric power steering PCBs in HyperLynx by exporting math data from the Mentor Graphics Expedition layout application
  • Correlate HyperLynx simulation results with bench level electromagnetic measurements
  • Collaborate with engineers for the testing, documenting, and improving of the automated design rule checks at the PCB level
  • Maintain and improve the database for electrical components for competitor systems
  • Analyze, measure, and document the electrical component parameters of newly acquired competitor systems
  • Communicate with supervisors, engineering team, and technicians to maintain continuous progress on your assigned projects
  • Possible that some work can be done remotely

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be attending a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw
  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 in the summer
  • Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
