Associate Process Capability Coach (2019)

This position is located in Saginaw, MI. This position supports process engineering and coaching the project teams in implementation of standard processes. The job requires an understanding of the entire system-software development lifecycle and general quality assurance methodologies. The ideal candidate is someone who has an Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology education background. Prior experience in embedded software engineering and/ or process development/ deployment will be an advantage. The PCC is independent from the Project Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide process implementation and tools usage support
  • Assist to author structured processes & maintain Process portal
  • Maintain changes/ improvement suggestions from Process Governance Board (PGB)
  • Manage releases for Process portal
  • Maintain & publish metrics/ dashboard
  • Analyze data & identify improvements
  • Liaison with Process champions for continuous process improvement
  • Assist to identify project specific tailoring
  • Facilitate training requirements for project/ functional teams
  • Facilitate defect root cause analysis meetings to identify systemic causes
  • Participate in project status meetings
  • Participate in software activities, such as reviews, to ensure process compliance
  • Ensure ‘Lessons Learned’ meetings, and derive actions to improve processes & quality
  • Support external Automotive SPICE assessments

Job Requirements (Required)

  • Experience with quality standards (e.g. Automotive SPICE, CMMI (Dev), ITIL, etc.)
  • Knowledge & Experience in Software Development Lifecycle
  • Experience with Configuration management tools
  • Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies
  • Experience with MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Project)
  • Exhibits strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders and practitioners

Job Requirements (Preferred – will be an advantage)

  • Experience in System/ Software Process quality assurance and/ or previous experience in Automotive domain
  • Experience with Portfolio/ Program management tools like Clarity, JIRA, etc.
  • Familiarity with Agile developments methodology
  • Understanding of functional safety concept, coding standards, verification methods/ tools, project management tools, etc.



  • Bachelor – Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
  • Master in Business Administration (MBA) with relevant experience
