The objective of the student programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with professional work experiences.  Work assignments expose students to many of the company's products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people, providing them an awareness of potential career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive.  Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a business environment.  In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.


Special Skill Requirements:

- Highly professional demeanor with ability and confidence to interface with all levels of the company including members of the senior leadership team.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office.

- Strong communication and writing skills.

- Additional skills (desired but not required) – proficiency in graphic/web design, photography, and/or video production/editing.


Job Description:

- The student will work to develop, edit and publish multi-media communications and internal marketing materials for the global Nexteer team via digital and print channels such as intranet, digital screens, videos, signage, emails, and other channels.

- He/she will also assist in promoting and coordinating logistics for site and functional activities and events including an annual Global Leadership Conference.

- Additional responsibilities include promoting the Nexteer brand and culture through strategic communication campaigns, community involvement, and employee engagement programs.

- The student will also collaborate with the Marketing Communications team to ensure cohesive messaging across internal and external audiences.


Job Requirements:

-Must have a 3.0 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale.

-Must be a full-time student

-Must be attending SVSU, Northwood University, or U of M - Flint.

-Must be working towards a Bachelor’s in Communications, Marketing, Management, Public Relations, Graphic Design or Multi-Media Design.

-Must have the ability to work 20-32 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the summer and on breaks

-Candidate must have the right to work in the US without current or future sponsorship

-If enrolled at SVSU, must enroll in the SVSU Co-op Program through Cardinal Career Network upon acceptance of job
