Driveline Automation and Assembly Engineer (2018)

We are looking for integral members of our manufacturing engineering (in-plant) to lead automation and assembly projects.  The fast paced change of our new technology provides endless opportunities for career development.  Additionally, this position involves many opportunities for problem solving, creative thinking, and interaction with upper management and design teams.  The ideal candidate has experience in assembly and automation.  This position may provide the opportunity for limited domestic travel to review equipment at supplier sites.





  • Lead activities for implementation of automation projects in the Plant.
  • Work with Central ME groups and suppliers in development and testing of automation projects.
  • Support safety assessments and related controls solutions.
  • Support operations & maintenance to develop set-up and maintenance plans for incoming equipment.
  • Support operations to improve department operating efficiency and assure automation processes are meeting cycle time requirements.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders, supervisors, engineers, skilled trades, etc. to meet operations and customer needs.








  • 3+ years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous experience with tool & equipment build or equivalent project management experience preferred
  • Familiar with PLC program debug and additions
  • Require proficiency with Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Prefer experience with Rockwell Programmable Automation Controllers
  • Prefer experience with bar code scanners and printers
  • Required to manage multiple projects at one time
  • High level of analytical skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills, drive and teamwork


Physical Requirements:

Speaking & Listening:  This position is highly communicative through phone, web ex, skype, and face to face with work team and customers utilizing English as the primary language. Communicating with work team and customers; This job requires the perception of speech.

Carrying: The employee will need to carry a laptop case or backpack with computer while travelling. Occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

Walking: Will be required to walk through manufacturing environment and from building to building. Must be able to walk from building to building and stand for periods of time

Stooping & Crouching: The employee will occasionally be required to bend forward by bending at the waist or by bending legs and spine.

Sitting: Must be occasionally able to sit for extended periods of time.

Standing: Must be occasionally able to stand for extended periods of time.

Climbing: The employee will occasionally need to climb stair/ladders within the manufacturing/garage/lab environment.

Required to wear personal protective equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas
