The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.

 

The Global ERP Optimization Team is seeking a motivated co-op student to become an active member of our multi-functional team. Our team’s focus is to improve the utilization of our core Nexteer systems. This position will take on many responsibilities from the mundane to the complex. Candidate must be able to multi-task and must be open to changing priorities. This role will be primarily office-based, but some time may be spent in the plant environment.  The opportunity to own small projects / initiatives and interact with multiple levels of the organization and contacts across the world exists. Experience gained in the classroom and through personal application will be accepted.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Plant floor device maintenance and trouble-shooting
  • Automate manual processes
  • Organize data to bring meaning to the business thru standard Microsoft tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be attending a local college or university…
  • Candidate must be studying Bachelors in Computer Information Systems (other business or IT degrees may be considered)
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 in the summer
  • Must have cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits)
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
