The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.


QAD Item Set up Coordinator


This position will allow the Student to manage the dedicated supplier setup process within our global ERP system; QAD.  The position will also consist of working with some new and innovative programs to help improve, automate and streamline the process.  In this position, the Student will have the opportunity to work with upper-level management and enhance their leadership skills. Student would be asked to complete other miscellaneous tasks as they arise. 


Job description: 


  • Manage requests as they come in from sales, PC&L, finance or operations.  Be a liaison between the original requester and any other applicable functions.
  • Perform data research in the QAD system 
  • Analyze data and determine next steps to complete the set-up process
  • Follow the process to complete all steps of the item set up. 
  • Record each finished task as well as identify the next step to be processed and why the process has paused. 
  • Send out communications as needed to all interested parties. 
  • Keep neat and accurate records of all items that have been completed. 
  • Participate in the development and testing of new business tools to improve the process. 
  • Manage other data processes as necessary
  • Manage other data cleanup activities as necessary



  • Strong communication skills.  Verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • 5 years or more experience with computers and ability to learn and work with new software programs(Preferred skill)
  • Efficient skills with Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently.
  • Candidate must be working towards a bachelors in business, finance, IT or engineering. 
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 hours per week in the summer
  • Must have cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits)
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
