Position Overview:

 

PPAP Coordinator is responsible for the timely and accurate submission of all Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) data and documents into the required internal and external systems.  In this role, the PPAP coordinator will interface with the functional groups including Engineering, Quality, Production Control & Logistics (PC&L), Program Management, and Plant Support Staff to ensure PPAP submissions conform to IATF and Nexteer requirements.  An additional role of the PPAP Coordinator is Purchased Parts Administration, which will include quality aspects of received material.

 

 

Major Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Interface with customer and supplier Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE’s) to ensure all customer requirements are comprehended and met.
  • Interface with multiple disciplines (Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Met Lab, Purchasing, Suppliers, and Customers).  Ensure each is providing timely and accurate information as required for customer and program timing.
  • Assure compliance to IATF/TS-16949 Standards within assigned areas.
  • Input all required documents and data into internal and external systems in support of PPAP
  • Ensure PPAP timing gates are met.  Escalate when it appears timing cannot be met.
  • Interface with additional customer SQE’s to ensure all Service Parts PPAP’s are submitted accurately and timely.
  • Finalize PPAP Change Notices
  • Support the day-to-day operating systems that drive competitive quality performance and warranty improvements.
  • Ensure readiness for all internal and external quality audits.
  • Supports the Purchased Parts administrator with Returned Material Approval (RMA) generation and tracking, Cost Recovery, and Supplier corrective actions.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Three years’ experience managing a certified quality management system
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Customer quality assurance experience
  • Previous audit experience- IATF/ISO/TS 16949
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Strong self-starting initiative and innovative attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint are required)
