Functional safety engineer

1.     Key responsibilities:

•    FMEDA analysis for regional programs:  expertise in tool use and methodology, execution of FMEDA analysis for all regional programs
•    FTA modeling for regional programs:  expertise in tool use and methodology, generate and maintain core system analysis models, provide support to regional team as they make application specific changes
•    Customer spec reviews for regional programs: provide expert review and RCM analysis for regional pursuits
•    Requirements/traceability support for regional programs: expertise in doors structure and traceability, provide guidance and support for regional programs, take on actual requirements tasks as needed for regional programs
•    Safety owned calibration support for regional programs: thorough understanding of processes, provide training and guidance to regional safety engineers
•    Safety owned calibrations responsibility for bench level verification:  own/maintain test bench, execute verification on regional programs
•    Core safety knowledge expertise:  provide expertise and guidance to regional safety engineers regarding ISO 26262 interpretation, Nexteer safety process execution.  
•    Application level functional safety engineering/management for regional programs that aren’t yet staffed (ex:  Italy)
•    Work organization of subordinate employees and supervision of its execution (approving holidays and delegations, inspection and approval time work etc.)
•    Participate in maintenance of IATF 16949 standards
•    Select special characteristics
•    Select & develop product design
•    Provide preventive and corrective actions
•    Participate in meeting with customers

2. Qualifications:


•    Engineer degree, electronics or similar specialization

•    Min. 1 years experience in the similar position
•    Experience with circuit design
•    Experience in the analysis and simulation of bus structures CAN/FlexRay        
•    Experience with the AUTOSAR architecture    
•    Experience with formal configuration management tools
•    Good English
•    Good MS office products skills    
•    Good knowledge of APQP/PPAP    
•    Very good DFMEA or PFMEA or DFMDA or DRBFM knowledge
•    Expert ISO 26262 knowledge    
•    Good familiarity with automotive communication protocols    
•    Good familiarity with electronic assembly processes    
•    Basic understanding of microcontroller peripherals            
•    Basic familiarity with basic tools that apply to CAN networks        
•    Basic familiarity with MISRA standards and verification tools    
•    Good familiarity with maturity models such as A-SPICE or CMMI    
•    Good familiarity with analysis tools such as DOORS         
•    Good familiarity with product failure risk management tools        
•    Basic knowledge of electric motor design        
•    Good familiarity with automotive product    
•    Basic understanding of C code                    
•    Very good analytical thinking
