About the Role

The Global Marketing Communications & Brand Manager develops and executes a consistent global communication plan in support of Nexteer’s corporate and business growth strategies. This role provides strategic and tactical leadership on a variety of global external communication & branding initiatives across a diverse set of platforms and formats.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Leads the ongoing development and execution of the global marketing communications strategy and associated brand-building activities
  • Provides support to and collaborates with all regions in tailoring global strategies & tactics to local markets, shares best practices and provides expert advice
  • Manages and executes tactics within the global strategy, including but not limited to:
    • Leads global brand positioning/voice/messaging guidelines, branding guidelines maintenance, consistent application and approvals
    • Leads global social media management (both organic and paid), including story calendar/pipeline planning, implementation, monitoring, responses and metrics
    • Leads web site management, including ongoing new content development (such as blogs), updates (product/company) and consistency across regional sites, as well as metrics tracking
    • Leads proactive and reactive media relations activities to promote Nexteer technologies and other corporate initiatives
    • Leads strategic selection of sponsorships, advertising placements and other paid promotions to reach targeted audiences and markets that align with growth targets and influence decision-makers
    • Supports key customer sales pursuits with strategic messaging and associated deliverables such as presentations, brochures, videos, etc. to differentiate Nexteer from competitors
    • Spearheads external events (e.g., trade shows, tech shows, ride & drives, webinars, speaking engagements, etc.) through strategy and messaging development and implementation activities
    • Supports Investor Relations communications with content and key messaging development
    • Supports crisis management with strategic counsel/recommendations, messaging of external comms, coordination with Internal/Regional Comms as applicable
    • Leads the global MarComm team and an external agency/vendor network, consisting of support for media relations, graphic design, video/animation production, content development, etc.  
  • Serves as an advisor to C-suite/Sr. Leadership for a variety of communication formats, such as media interviews, high-profile speaking engagement, sensitive communications, etc.
  • Collaborates across functions for story development/pipeline such as Sales/Customer Communications, Corporate/Internal Communications, Investor Relations, etc. – ensures consistent messaging and timing alignment; continually develops/feeds future story pipeline (Engineering/R&D/Divisional collaboration, etc.)
  • Ensures and facilitates review and approval process for external presentations and trademark use (i.e., supplier and other stakeholder requests for use of the Company brand); ensures and facilitates trademark defense/application support for evidence of use
  • Ensures continuous improvement, cost/time efficiencies, toolsets and protocols:  Such as Digital Asset Management tools (Canto), social media (sprout social), web (Word Press), applied AI for Comms Best Practices, etc.; share latest developments in PR/Comms/Marketing, etc.

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience within Communications, Marketing or related field – ideally with B2B company experience
  • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives on complex topics to a wide variety of audiences and deliver well developed, consistent messaging across multiple channels on a global scale
  • Ability to work with a variety of cultures, functions and businesses, along with the skills to manage multiple projects, perspectives and internal stakeholders simultaneously – while prioritizing a diverse range of projects and meeting tight deadlines
  • A clear understanding of digital/social communications and content marketing
  • Excellent writing  and editing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, problem-solving and leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge of business operations, automotive and adjacent industry sectors
  • People leadership and agency management experience
  • Project and budget management experience
  • Dedicated to life-long learning and continuous improvement

 

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field
