Nexteer Automotive seeks an experienced Internal Auditor with 4-7 years of experience.  The Senior Internal Auditor will work closely with the Executive Director and Manager of Internal Audit and process owners to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, ensure the effectiveness of controls over financial reporting, and ensure compliance with law and regulations.


To be successful in this position, a positive attitude, enthusiasm about learning, and taking on new and challenging assignments is a requirement.  Additionally, good communication skills are imperative as the candidate will be communicating with various groups around the globe from all levels in the organization, including executives and staff.  Responsibilities will include:      


  • Taking a lead role in the continued development of the internal audit function within the organization
  • Assisting in the advancement of the risk assessment and audit planning processes to allow for a risk-based assessment of the appropriateness of the control framework established by the company
  • Assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization against internal policies and procedures as well as external benchmarks
  • Developing and performing audit procedures, including identifying and defining exceptions, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence
  • Performing operational and compliance reviews such as inventory management, plant operational reviews, and procurement reviews to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations
  • Identifying, researching, and documenting audit findings and recommendations for improvement using independent judgment
  • Developing and maintaining productive team-oriented internal and external relationships through individual contacts and group meetings
  • Identifying, investigating and reporting to management on cases of potential fraud, waste or abuse
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% internationally



  • Position requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field and 4+ years of experience in internal or external auditing.
  • A Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation is preferred. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience
  • Position requires intermediate knowledge of accounting principles and practices including IFRS, Institute of Internal Auditors Standards and Code of Ethics, management principles, management information systems terminology, concepts, and practices, risk management, control techniques and frameworks, planning and project management, regulations, and laws; the ability to collect and analyze complex data; use data extraction and analysis tools; use active listening skills; effective verbal and written communications; ability to identify common indicators of fraud; work with highly sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of data analytic tools is preferred
  • Bi-lingual in English and Mandarin Chinese and/or Spanish is preferred
  • Working knowledge of QAD and Hyperion is preferred
