The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.

 

Nexteer North America Human Resources – US Saginaw, is looking for an energetic candidate to come in and support the Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) with various tasks; as a Human Resources Co-Op. The ideal candidate has a powerful desire to lead, can help implement change and brings energy to the staff. 

 

Job Description:

The Co-Op would be responsible for the following tasks and different day to day activities:

  • Complete unemployment paperwork for former employees
  • Monitor attendance programs for plants
  • Promote communication efforts from Management to Union Employees
  • Input timekeeping for various employees
  • Cover vacation periods for HRBPs and act in full capacity
  • Support Salaried workforce initiatives
  • File paperwork when required
  • Other various activities as the HRBPs require

 

The student would be looked at as a member of the Human Resources team and would be required to keep matters confidential and hold a high-level of integrity when dealing with various situations.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be attending Delta College or a 4-year university
    • Northwood University, U of M – Flint, Saginaw Valley State University
  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Business
  • Must have cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
  • Must be able to work 20 – 32 hours per week during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 in the summer
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher
  • Must be able to lift greater than 10 pounds
  • Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to travel between manufacturing plants
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
