The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.

 

Job Requisition Introductory Paragraph:

This position will allow the student to develop their communication skills as they are responsible for coordinating and scheduling our Central Manufacturing Engineering training courses.  This position will also require the student to develop skills in using our databases to run reports and keep track of our training records.  The individual will also communicate with the Chief Engineers and Managers to collect information to support our monthly Global Metric report.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate our Manufacturing Engineering training
  • Load training into our database, give Engineers access and assist them in signing up for classes
  • Log into our many databases to review information
  • Conduct reports to training for the year
  • Work with Delta College to assign classes, email Engineers to sign up for classes and give Engineers credit once course is complete
  • Maintain documents and links for our Engineers to use for their daily needs

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be attending a 2-year or 4-year college local to Saginaw
  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Business or Computer Science
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 hours in the summer
  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
  • Must be a self-starter and capable of completing task with minimal guidance
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Microsoft tools used to collect and report on data
  • Ability to use databases for running reports and collecting data
  • Candidate must have the right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
