The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.

 

 

This position will allow the Student to assist with computer-based quality pre-launch activities as well as current manufacturing operations for steering product line programs.  Position could include on-line training coordination, database maintenance, and helping to launch new technologies.  Student would assist with the monitoring of several other key Quality elements to insure perfect launch of various platforms. In this position the Student will have the opportunity to work with upper-level management and enhance their leadership skills. Student would be asked to complete other miscellaneous tasks as they arise primarily associated with but not limited to Quality Engineering requirements. 

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Create new and/or enhance existing computer applications, programs, spreadsheets, databases, etc. to compile information and generate reports of department metrics
  • Support embedded software development activities
  • Gather, analyze, and record Quality related data for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
  • Assist supervisor in any administrative work

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be studying bachelor’s in engineering or other Business-related field.
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 in the summer
  • Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits)
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
