Overview

We are looking for a self-motivated and inquisitive individual for a technology development and innovation role. The candidate should possess good attention to detail, be creative, possess good time management skills and have strong interpersonal skills. This position is for research and development, including modeling, simulation, analysis and verification, of electric drive systems, and enforcing the technology development process for various technical projects from research through to production implementation. The candidate is expected to have a good understanding of the systems, software and testing equipment and procedures for analysis, performance characterization and verification of motor control systems.

 

Description

  • Responsible for motor control system analysis, modeling, and design of motor control systems for motion control products.
  • Enforcing the technology development process for technical projects from research through to production implementation.
  • Testing, verification and validation of motor control system requirements and designs.
  • Calibration of motor control system characteristics of both performance and diagnostic functions.
  • Effectively integrates all aspects of a design through the use of multi-disciplinary engineering.
  • Able to lead technical projects incorporating complex electromechanical (mechatronic) systems.
  • Examines, understands and creates system and subsystem specifications for motion control systems.
  • Assists in optimizing product cost through development of cost optimal system designs and architectures.

 

Job Requirements

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Strong computer skills, both application software and programming languages.
  • Knowledge of engineering simulation tools (e.g. Matlab/Simulink) is required.
  • Knowledge of system synthesis, analysis and verification techniques.
  • Excellent organization and documentation abilities.
  • General competency in all core fields (electrical, mechanical and computer engineering) is preferred.
  • Background in automotive engineering and chassis systems (steering, braking, suspension) is preferred.
  • Excellent problem definition and solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to look at computer screen/monitor for extended periods of time.

 

Education

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering required.
