The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.

 

Job Description:
The job is to support engineers in the Steering Architecture System Team. The student will have to be able to create test requests, organize parts, organize data and provide conclusions and recommendations. The student must be able to use gauges to perform inspections and evaluations on parts. The student needs to have an active driver's license and be willing to take day trips to deliver and pick up parts and vehicles. We are looking for a student that easily connects, networks and communicates with people around them.


Skills Required:
Basic engineering skills, hands-on mechanical and/or electrical experience, good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Well organized. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate must be attending a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw
  • Candidate must be pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to work 20-32 hours per week during the school year
    • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
  • Candidate must have right-to-work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
