Systems Engineer Intern – Powerpack Core Architecture

 

 

We are looking for an inquisitive, highly self motivated individual who is eager to learn and has good attention to

detail and time management skills. This position is located in Saginaw, MI. 

 

Description:

  • Responsible requirement analysis and modeling of Powerpack system functions (i.e., motor control, power management, thermal management) for electronic steering systems.
  • System Architecture Development for the Powerpack System for electronic steering systems.
    • Support development of peer review checklists, and peer reviews for requirements and verification plans.
    • Support development of standard templates for Powerpack System architecture
    • Support application teams in flowdown of System level requirements to the Powerpack system level.
  • Designs and optimizes simultaneous system performance goals through requirements flow down.
  • Effectively integrates all aspects of a design through the use of multi-disciplinary engineering
  • Understands and creates system and subsystem specifications
  • Stays abreast with new technology.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Experience with analysis and modeling of system requirements.
  • Knowledge of electric machine types commonly used in electric power steering such as brushless PMSM and DC brush.
  • Strong computer skills, and knowledge of simulation tools (e.g. Matlab), and requirements management tools (Doors) is preferred.
  • General competency in all core fields (electronics, electromagnetics, computer hardware and software) is required.
  • Excellent problem solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of system synthesis, analysis and verification techniques.
  • Good organization and documentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.

 

Education:

BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

MS in Systems Engineering + Design (degree in process)

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Speaking & Listening:  Communicating with work team and customers
  • Sitting: The employee may be required to sit for extended periods of time
  • Standing: Must be able to walk from building to building and stand for periods of time
