Electrical Software Application Engineer

Missions:

  • Responsible for coordination of Software development activities for EPS product applications

      Key responsibilities and authorities:

  • Employee’s awareness of their impact on product quality and the importance of their activities in achieving, maintaining, and improving quality, including customer requirements and the risks involved for the customer with non-conforming product.
     
  • Lead Customer Electrical Product Development Team meetings for software development
  • Create and/or maintain all applicable software specifications
  • Maintain a Software project timeline for assigned applications
  • Responsible of software development and release (Content definition, Build Plan preparation, requirements review & freeze, coding, integration, testing, anomalies management, release package)
  • Responsible of software calibration release activities
  • Assure flawless interface between OEM and Nexteer software group during all stages of the program
  • Responsible of customer specification analysis and compliance matrix
  • Responsible of customer change request management
  • Issue and own customer Software and Calibration part numbers
  • Validate Software in OEM calibration conditions prior to customer software releases
  • Track, reproduce and document software anomalies outlined by customer

 

     Qualifications required:

     

I Education:

 

  • Engineering degree in Embedded Software

 

II Experience:

 

  • Experience in design / development of Embedded Software
  • Experience with embedded systems microcontrollers (8-bit, 16-bit or 32-bit microcontrollers)
  • Experience with formal configuration management tools

 

III Skills:

 

  • Experience with software configuration management systems (i.e., Synergy)
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Flexray)
  • Experience with basic tools that apply to CAN, FlexRay networks
  • Functional understanding of C programming language
  • Experience in HiL environment (IPG Platform, CARMAKER, Tcl/Tk language)
  • Experience with developing software within an AUTOSAR architecture
  • Familiarity with standard automotive development processes (APQP, PPAP)
  • Understanding of ISO26262 standard and its impact on software development
  • Familiarity with formal requirements management tools (i.e., DOORS)
  • Familiarity with MISRA standards and verification tools
  • Familiarity with maturity models such as SPICE and/or CMMI
  • Familiarity with the AGILE development methodology
  • Familiarity with modelling and simulation tools (Matlab / Simulink)
  • Proficient with Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook and Project)
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent communication / interpersonal skills and strong willingness to operate in a multi-cultural environment / with remote locations
  • Automotive engineering experience (OEM and / or tier1)
  • Languages: English & French mandatory
