Health, Safety & Environment
Upholding high standards in EH&S is imperative to our success – both in achieving our vision and in managing our operations around the globe. At Nexteer, employee health and safety is a top priority – we believe every accident is preventable, and this is reflected in our safety culture.
In addition to prioritizing the safety of our people, we also focus on assessing and developing initiatives to improve our environmental footprints. Environmental stewardship is at the cornerstone of our business as we believe it is fundamental in ensuring strong overall performance. Through our environmental programs and initiatives, we drive greater efficiency and transparency. We continue to prioritize energy efficiency enhancements and have recently completed the installation of a state-of-the-art 17,000-panel solar array at our Saginaw site, dramatically reducing GHG emissions.
Community
Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – Nexteer Cares – program is committed to community involvement. Our community engagement strategy remained focused on three focus areas: proactive community involvement, careers and education, and strengthening neighborhoods. Many colleagues engaged in impactful initiatives throughout the year – ranging from exposing youth to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education to participating in community and humanitarian crises support initiatives.

Relentless innovation is a key part of our culture. Our innovation is fueled by our in-house ownership of R&D, design, testing and manufacturing, as well as our focus on global, cross-functional collaboration. We encourage our teams to find new ways to improve effectiveness and efficiencies in all our daily business activities to drive solutions for our customers.
ESG Highlights
93% of our Saginaw site waste was reused, recovered or recycled in 2023.
In 2023, we completed 11 electricity, steam and waste reduction projects, avoiding 7,303 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions.
Our new solar array, live in 2024, will lower the Nexteer Saginaw site's greenhouse gas emissions by an estimated 7,000 metric tons annually.
