2025 GSM Information Systems Summer Internship

The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.

Nexteer Automotive is excited to offer an engaging opportunity to BISM or MISM (Bachelor or Master of Information Systems Management) and BIDA (Business Intelligence and Data Analytics) undergraduate & graduate students. We are on the lookout for energetic individuals with a passion for technology and data, eager to apply their academic insights to the vibrant automotive industry.

As an integral part of our Global Supply Management (GSM) Systems team, you will play a crucial role in our digital transformation initiatives. The GSM team is dedicated to utilizing technology to optimize our supply chain, improve operational efficiencies, and drive business solutions.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Establish a Supplier Carbon Emissions data tracking system with future improvement plan visibility.
• Need to system to seamlessly integrate and feed into our sourcing & cost modeling processes / systems
• Generation of supplier follow up cadence schedule and related communications.
• Designing interactive dashboards and reports using various BI tools to meet the specific requirements of our stakeholders.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify their information needs, and resolve system-related issues.
• Leverage AI technologies for machine learning and/or LLM technologies.

This will be an onsite internship (in Auburn Hills, MI) that will continue into a virtual Fall Capstone Project that will continue through December 2024.

Requirements:

• Candidate must be attending a 4-year university
• Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Information Systems Management or Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
• Candidate must be able to work up to 40 hours per week during the Summer
• Must have cumulative 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale
