Nexteer Automotive is seeking talented and motivated students with strong interests in data engineering, AI/ML, analytics, and digital transformation. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to apply your technical expertise to real-world challenges within the automotive industry.

 

As part of our Global Supply Management (GSM) team, you will contribute to building scalable data solutions, advancing our digital ecosystem, and supporting initiatives that enhance supply chain visibility, automation, and decision intelligence across the organization. 

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Support application development, testing, deployment, documentation, and quality assurance.
  • Analyze and transform large, complex datasets, applying data engineering techniques to generate insights that influence critical business decisions.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data products using modern BI and visualization tools tailored to stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with engineering, supply chain, finance, and IT teams to understand requirements, optimize data flows, and resolve system or process challenges.
  • Apply AI/ML and LLM technologies to automate processes, enhance data interpretation, and support predictive or generative analytics initiatives.
  • Translate technical findings into clear business insights, enabling nontechnical stakeholders to make informed decisions. 

 

Throughout this internship, you will strengthen your technical skills, business understanding, and crossfunctional collaboration while gaining exposure to the automotive industry’s evolving digital landscape.

 

This is an onsite internship in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

 

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problemsolving skills.
