The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.

Job Requisition:

This position will allow the Student to assist with computer-based logistical pre-launch activities for innovative programs.  Position could include on-line training coordination, database maintenance, and helping the GM Sales team with various administrative tasks.  Student would assist with managing the contract database, using the GM website to download necessary documents and general assistance to Key Account Managers, Account Managers and Director. .In this position, the Student will have the opportunity to work with all levels of management and enhance their leadership skills. Student would be asked to complete other miscellaneous tasks as they arise. 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist supervisor in any administrative work
  • Create new and/or enhance existing computer applications, programs, spreadsheets, databases, etc. to compile information and generate reports of department metrics
  • Manage the Contract Database
  • Assist entire GM Sales department as needed with various administrative tasks.
  • Occasional travel to Saginaw
  • Work with Sales Associate to assist for direction

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be attending a local university.
  • Candidate must be studying Bachelors in a business related field
  • Must have cumulative 3.0 GPA.
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 in the summer
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
