TITLE: Validation HIL Engineer


DUTIES: Support control software Functional integration verification and validation of software for an embedded control system using state of the art microcontrollers; Understand requirements, algorithm design and designing simulations and tests to confirm requirements are met; perform testing at the functional level (software integrated into target hardware); design tests, procedures, and test scripts to support the testing of the EPS Core system functions; execute tests in the Hardware in the Loop test environment against the requirements of the EPS Core system functions; analyze test results, root cause issues, and generate test reports; work with a cross functional team to evaluate EPS Core system requirements for testing purposes; support Functional Safety team to create a Test Strategy focused on safety for the EPS Core system; support System team to create Test Strategy focused on the functionality of the EPS Core system; and support the maintenance of the Hardware in the Loop test benches including upgrading components and software licenses.


REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or closely related and two years of experience in the job offered or a related. Experience must include: Experience with embedded controls development or verification; experience with Matlab, Simulink to support systems testing; experience with dSpace test products; experience with CAN serial communications, including vehicle messaging and diagnostic service implementations; experience reading and understanding “C” and Assembly source code; experience with control module embedded design – microprocessor peripherals, memory allocation, compilers, linkers, programming standards, etc.; experience with Labview / National Instruments hardware; experience with coding in the Vector CANTech programming language “CAPL”; and experience with microprocessors and microcontrollers.
