Systems and Algorithm Engineer

CNXMotion, LLC, a joint venture of Nexteer and Continental, is looking for an Experienced Algorithm Engineer to support activities at our facility in Grand Blanc, Michigan. This research and development facility is staffed with creative engineers who take pride in the unique start-up culture within the automotive industry. The preferred candidate will utilize strong leadership and technical skills in creating new solutions with documented development for advancing steering, braking and motion control technologies. The position is located at the CNXMotion facility in Grand Blanc, MI while offering the opportunity to work from home on a flexible basis.

 

Responsibilities

  • Use Matlab and Simulink tools to analyze existing functions and develop new functions based on requirements
  • Develop and maintain tools to predict system performance
  • Use dSPACE MicroAutoBox for rapid prototyping and vehicle level evaluation of new functions
  • Implement Machine Learning, AI algorithms using Python, Matlab, Simulink, Tensorflow
  • Generate, validate and document requirements related to motion control systems using tools such as PTC Integrity, Capella
  • Support Implementation of GUI (Graphical User Interface) and HMI (Human Machine Interfaces) for vehicle demos using C, Visual Studio, Python and Vector CANoe
  • Understanding of latest Autonomous driving technologies and control techniques
  • Debug and resolve system issues related to electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Support vehicle test, calibration and SW validation in releasing new functions.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Project experience with algorithm design
  • Design knowledge of Electric Power Steering systems preferred
  • Experience performing system modeling using Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience with Model-Based Design, Model-in-the Loop Testing and rapid prototyping with dSPACE MicroAutoBox
  • Familiar with automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, FlexRay)
  • Familiar with automotive cyber security methodologies preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work with people in a collaborative environment
  • Enjoy driving and evaluating vehicles while making quick physical maneuvers
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
