The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.


Job Requisition Introductory Paragraph:

This position will allow the student to gain “real world” experience that many engineers deal with.  The student will assist with problem solving on real problems in various locations on site, with guidance from problem solving leaders.  The student will get to learn various problem-solving techniques and statistics to make a real impact to the company.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers / problem solvers to collect and analyze data
  • Document actions / data involved with various problem-solving activities
  • Help with / learn other I&CIM activities
  • Some administrative work may be required as well



  • Candidate must be attending a 4-year university
  • Candidate must be pursuing a bachelor’s in Engineering
    • Mechanical or Electrical preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to work 40 hours per week
  • Must have cumulative 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits for following Fall semester)
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
