The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.
Summer Internship Program:
Nexteer is seeking career motivated candidates to join the company in IT. The intern will assist in the development and integration of API-driven solutions within the Microsoft Azure environment. The project focuses on building and maintaining APIs using ASP.NET Core or Python to support manufacturing and business operations. Tasks include:
- Developing APIs and microservices to handle manufacturing data processing.
- Leveraging Azure cloud services to deploy and scale applications.
- Collaborating on integrating LLM features for basic query and data interaction use cases.
- Providing documentation and testing for the APIs and deployed solutions.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing Bachelor's in Computer Science
- Must have cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale
- Must be able to work 40 hours per week
Special Skills Preferred:
- Experience with ASP.NET Core (C#) or Python for web or API development.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and microservice architecture.
- Knowledge about containerization(dockers)
- Understanding of cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Azure Functions, Azure DevOps).
- General awareness of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their application.
- General understanding of manufacturing concepts, including Bill of Materials (BOMs) and data processing in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
