2025 Electrical Engineering Summer Internship

The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.
Examples of Projects a Student Could Work On:
- Software troubleshooting
- Software development
- Support system design and traceability
- Support vehicle tuning
- Support system HIL testing
- Hardware design and development
- Algorithm development
- Preparing parts for testing and reviewing test results
- Reviewing engineering drawings and participating in the change management process
- Test plan development and part submission to validation laboratory
- Collect and analyze data
Please note, projects mentioned above are a general overview of our internship program. Exact project assignments will not be given until 4-6 weeks before the start of your internship.
Job Qualifications:
- Must be attending an accredited 4-year University
- Enrolled in an Electrical Engineering program
- Minimum 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrated attention to detail and documentation
- High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- Knowledge product design process and/or tooling and manufacturing processes preferred
- Technical knowledge of mechanical principles
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and coordinate multiple activities
- Demonstrated commitment to a disciplined approach on projects
- Good oral & written skills
- Knowledge / Expertise in the following: Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint
- Candidate must have right to work in US and not require current or future sponsorship
- Reliable transportation
