The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.

 

This position will allow the Student to help advance management of changes to production products. The ideal candidate will be ready to collaborate with team members on actions required for individual changes and creatively identify opportunities to improve our business practices.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and track change management documentation for cost savings data
  • Conceptualize and create and/or update new data constructs in Microsoft Excel in order to better manage change data
  • Follow estimates of change costs through verification of actual cost after implementation
  • Create VBA macros for Excel to automate data collection and processing
  • Compile data to track product line performance to change management metrics
  • Troubleshoot issues regarding data inconsistencies and data pre-processing
  • Maintain the change management Microsoft SharePoint site
  • Develop tracking tools using Business Intelligence software (Microsoft Power BI) for following supply related changes through supply management and internal change management systems

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be attending a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw
  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Finance, Business, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or related field
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 in the summer
  • Candidate must have advanced Excel skills including familiarity with vlookup and pivot tables
  • Candidate should be comfortable working with very large quantities of data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI is preferred but not required
  • Candidate should have excellent communication and time management skills
  • A basic understanding of database principles is preferred.
  • Must have cumulative 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
