Position Overview

Nexteer Automotive is seeking a creative and motivated Co-Op to support our US Communications and Engineering teams, with a focus on graphic design, web design, and coordination support for an Engineering EPS-driven event. This role offers hands-on experience working at the intersection of design, communication, and advanced automotive technology.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop visual content for internal and external communications, including presentations, digital assets, and promotional materials
  • Support updates and enhancements to internal web pages or intranet sites, ensuring content is engaging and user-friendly
  • Collaborate with engineering and communications teams to translate technical concepts into clear, visually compelling materials
  • Assist in planning and executing an Engineering EPS (Electric Power Steering) focused event, including:
  • Event branding and visual identity
  • Presentation and signage design
  • On-site setup and coordination support
  • Maintain brand consistency across all deliverables
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

 

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be attending a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 in the summer
  • Must have cumulative 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
  • Basic understanding of design principles, layout, typography, and color theory
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar
  • Exposure to web design tools or platforms (e.g., HTML/CSS, WordPress, or similar) is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship

 

Preferred Skills

  • Interest in automotive technology or engineering environments
  • Experience creating presentations (e.g., PowerPoint) with strong visual storytelling
  • Basic video editing or motion graphics experience is a plus
