Human Resources Manager – North America

The HR Manager is responsible for leading a team of HR professionals to provide solid HR services in a consultative capacity to management. Works as a strategic business partner to facilitate changes and work toward meeting Company goals through creative HR solutions.  Communicates regularly with their team to ensure understanding of and consistency in application of policies and procedures, fair treatment of employees, and coaching/development of front-line management.  The Human Resources Manager is a strategic business partner to the Plant Leadership Team and is an influential change agent throughout the organization. The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the U.S. HR Director and dotted line to the Plant Manager. 



  • Manage and guide a team of HR professionals:  Monitor performance, determine goals and priorities, and set team direction.
  • Apply knowledge of business to drive team objectives.
  • Assist in developing and executing Nexteer’s People Strategy.
  • Execute sound Employee & Labor Relations practices
  • Advise management on proper interpretation of the laws and regulations & local Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Investigate and processes grievances in a timely fashion.
  • Implement an efficient and integrated strategy for talent, recruiting, induction, training, career management, etc. at plant(s) level.
  • Work with the Plant Management teams to communicate HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to all organizational stakeholders.
  • Implement fair, equitable and leading-edge compensation, benefits and other reward systems that serve to attract, motivate, and retain employees.
  • Impact organizational effectiveness by providing leadership in managing cultural change within an organization undergoing significant transformation.
  • Identify and solve operational issues, understanding broader impact across the group.
  • Identify and analyze employee training and development needs; coordinate with the L&D team to plan cost effective training activities to meet the needs of current and future organization.
  • Manage people data and analytics that the Plant requires to effectively manage the business.
  • Maintain commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Nexteer’s Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
  • Guided by policies and business plans, impact team ability to achieve objectives.



  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a Tier One automotive parts supplier.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of prior HR experience required.
  • Strong labor and employee relations background.
  • People-centered and shop floor-oriented.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • High level of interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to work effectively with others.
  • Can research, develop, and write grievance answers, settlements, and reports.
  • Evidence of leading and facilitating change.
  • Drives people development.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead teams.
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems, (such as Kronos, Workforce SAP, Success Factors, etc.)



Bachelor’s Degree Required - Human Resources, Labor Relations, or Business
