The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.

 

Description:

  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers in equipment procurement & qualifications
  • Conduct various machine and gage studies
  • Coordinate & track equipment and part shipment
  • Create operator instructions for machines and gages
  • Participate in equipment runoffs

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Enrolled as an Engineering or Pre Engineering Student at local college (Delta College, SVSU, UM-Flint)
    • If enrolled at Delta, must be part of the ACE Co-op Program
    • If enrolled at SVSU, must be part of the SVSU Co-op Program through Cardinal Career Network
  • Must be a full-time student in Fall and Winter Semesters
  • Must be able to work 20-32 hours per week during the Fall and Winter Semesters
    • Work up to 40 hours a week during the Summer
  • Must have a 2.7 GPA
