Job Requisition Introductory Paragraph:
We are looking for an integral member to work with our CMM Lab Inspection Teams. This position involves many opportunities for problem solving, creative thinking, and interaction with Operations, Engineering, Prototype, Validation, and Design Teams. The ideal candidate would have experience with part inspection and a knowledge of GD&T.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate on-going inventory of spare probe tooling for all CMM’s.
- Maintain list of site Probe configurations and probe elements.
- Document all probe configurations, showing part numbers for all tips & extensions & special probe bar designs and load in electronic database.
- Perform gage qualification studies on hard gages and on CMM programs as part of the evaluation of the measurement system performance.
- Create and maintain a complete book of all up to date part prints and CMM program reports running on the machine with their run times.
- Audit inspection program reports for compliance to latest print prints and Set up Sheets, including correct nominal dimension values, tolerance values, any missing dimensions, and compliance to latest part print & set up sheet revisions.
- Communicate with all stakeholders, supervisors, engineers, skilled trades, etc. to meet customer needs
Requirements:
- Candidate must be attending a 2 year college or 4 year university local to Saginaw
- Candidate must be available to work onsite in Saginaw
- Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Engineering
- Mechanical preferred
- Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
- Up to 40 in the summer
- Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
- Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
- Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Working knowledge of Solid works or similar CAD software highly preferred
- Ability to read blueprints with an understanding of GD&T preferred
- Physical Requirements:
- Standing: While working with CMM equipment.
- Sitting: Office environment, working at a computer, meetings
- Speaking & Listening: Communicating with work team, suppliers, customers
- Walking/Mobility: For walking around the manufacturing plants, and office areas.
- Lifting: ability to occasionally lift large tooling and parts no heavier than 20 lbs. for placing on CMM work surface.
