The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

 

1.  Support NVH Engineering with day-to-day activities such as:

  • Delivery and Pick-up of test parts and equipment
  • Vehicle Testing (installation of test gears, NVH data collection, pick-up and delivery of customer test vehicles)
  • Data processing, analysis, and writing reports

2. Help with root cause studies

  • Perform gear builds
  • Execute the test plan from the responsible NVH Engineer and give status meetings as directed. 

3. NVH Lab improvement project

  • Be part of a team to complete tasks for lab improvement project

4. Assist with lab testing procedures/specifications

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must be attending local college or university
  • Candidate must be pursuing Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours per week during the Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 hours per week in the summer
  • Candidate must have a cumulative 2.7 GPA
  • Candidate must be a full-time student (12 or more credits per semester)
  • Candidate must have the right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
