The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity while providing students exposure to full-time career opportunities.

 

Job Requisition Introductory Paragraph:

This position is for on-site support in a team that manages pre-production manufacturing of systems for future vehicle launches.  This position allows for a mix of hands on and office work.  Exposure to part ordering & tracking, logistics, warehouse management, finance & budgeting, manufacturing and interfacing with various IT systems should be expected.  Additionally, collecting and processing test data with guidance from our engineering team to assist with the product development is a technical opportunity.  This position offers flexible work scheduling to accommodate school requirements.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist team with administrative work to ensure all prototype materials are ordered and received on time to support the engineering development projects.
  • Enter purchase requisitions and track material delivery to our schedules.
  • Coordinating material movement from local plants and warehouses as needed to support build activities.
  • Assist manufacturing team with process development and tooling procurement.
  • Log, track, summarize and submit development test data to engineering.

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be attending a 2 year college or 4 year university local to Saginaw.
  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors in Supply Chain Management, Business,  Engineering or IT.
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 in the summer
  • Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
