Position Overview:
Driveline is looking for an individual who has a passion for quality and drive to succeed. To be successful in this position, the candidate will be comfortable interacting with all internal departments and external customers. Using Problem Solving methodologies is imperative in this position. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to assess areas of quality improvement and address issues and concerns. A solid understanding of and compliance to ISO14001 and TS16949 standards and lean manufacturing processes is required. This position will report directly to the Driveline Quality Manager.
Major Job Responsibilities:
• Support the day-to-day operating systems that drive competitive quality performance and warranty improvements.
• Provide customer service and protect the customer.
• Interface with multiple disciplines (Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Purchasing and Customers).
• Work with Center of Analysis Warranty Analysis and provide customer updates.
• Participate in the plant Fast Response process, using the 3-Legged 5-Why method.
• Coach teams to make decisions that promote continuous improvement and enhance our quality culture.
• Assure compliance to IATF/TS-16949 Standards within assigned areas.
• Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action to customer complaints, RTY, and scrap initiatives.
• Ensure readiness for all internal and external quality audits.
• Monitor error proofing, gauging, and testing devices for product conformance.
• Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes. Review and analyze results. Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or other related fields.
• Two years’ experience working in a certified quality management system
• Exceptional mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of mechanical processes) and analytical analysis.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Ability to use basic mechanical measurement equipment, including but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, go/no go gages, and optical comparators.
• Customer quality assurance experience
• Previous audit experience IATF/ISO/TS 16949 is preferred.
• Six Sigma, FAST-X, and/or Red X certification preferred. ASQ certification is a plus
• High level of oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
• Strong self-starting initiative and innovative attitude
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent computer skills (Excel, Minitab, PowerPoint are required)
