Job Description:

This position involves working with the REPS Central Manufacturing Engineering Group.  Primary responsibility will be to assist the Engineering Manager and provide support to the Manufacturing Engineers.   The candidate must want to gain experience in both Engineering and Business, like managing the group Capital Equipment deployment data base. Must have basic financial knowledge. Other tasks include;

  • Engineering design change evaluation and cost analysis
  • Statistics, perform various measuring system analysis
  • Computer base VR reviews assistance
  • Manage Group team building events
  • Machine Qualification assistance
  • Prepare various types of documents
  • Misc office type duties

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage MEED data base
  • Update to TcM SMD library
  • Manage PO to MQ1 tracker
  • Assist in Capital forecasting
  • Attend MQ1 / MQ2 runoffs as needed
  • Create capability reports
  • Analyze QAD spending reports
  • Assist in updates to TcM
  • Assist MEs with runoff books
  • Keep Forecast spending updated 

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be attending U of M Flint, Delta or SVSU
  • Candidate must be studying Bachelors in Business or Engineering
  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
    • Up to 40 in the summer
  • Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA
  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
  • Candidate must have some level of analytical skills
  • Candidate must have good interpersonal skills
  • Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Candidate must have good computer skills
  • Candidate must have basic finance knowledge
  • Some knowledge of Problem Solving Techniques (i.e.: Shaina/Six Sigma/Fast X) preferred but not required
  • Some knowledge of GD&T, Statistic software and  Auto Cad preferred but not required
