TITLE: Sr. Engineering Supervisor – ECU Application Testing


DUTIES: Nexteer Automotive Corporation seeks a Supervisor, ECU Application Testing in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Note, this position does not require travel.


Coordinate resources and supervise work related to ECU application testing, heavily based around vehicle serial communications and interactions with application software. Supervise the definition of test bench hardware and software as well as develop processes and work procedures to support testing activities both in the US and globally. Maintain project timelines, provide regular status reports to program management teams, coordinate staffing to ensure on schedule completion. Support the management of group budgets and forecasts for equipment, capital, headcount, and expenses. Develop and supervise common process for providing clear, electronic traceability between requirements and test cases. Coordinate work with external or onsite suppliers. Develop and reinforce an overall team goal of high quality and on time results. Work with various application teams and core teams to coordinate and prioritize testing activities. Provide active team leadership through technical monitoring, frequent feedback, and transparent communication of team goals and priorities. Develop and implement staffing plans including hiring new employees. Provide technical support to test teams to help create test cases. Support anomaly and debug activities. Support process development activities for interface with internal teams.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and five years of experience in the job offered or related. Experience must include: Experience with embedded systems testing; experience with leadership or supervision of technical projects or teams; experience with automotive serial communications (CAN, LIN, FlexRay); experience with various testing methodologies; experience with software coding using C language; experience with formal requirements management tools (i.e., DOORS); experience with standardized software development process models (i.e., ASPICE); and experience with Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio).
