Product Engineer (Application)

Responsibilities:

Owner of sub-assembly drawings and BOMs.
Develop and release drawings related to ’CIP’ cost saving initiatives agreed with Customer. Ensure changes are successfully launched in pre-defined customer change windows.
Change Owner for design changes related to system area of responsibility. Such changes may be initiated by customer, suppliers or Nexteer.
Propose and develop new ideas for product value enhancement.
Lead engineering testing to ensure new designs meet product and process requirements including FTQ, scrap and rework.
Provide technical expertise during prototype builds, PTR’s launch phase of new product designs. Support analysis of non-conforming or rejected parts.
Interface with technical centers, customer service centers, customers and suppliers for engineering changes.
Participate in implementation and maintain-ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 18000.
Comply to Health and Safety rules and standards.
Comply to company rules and procedures.
Participate in DFMEA/PFMEA for appropriate products.
Select special characteristics.
Select & develop product design.
Provide preventive and corrective actions.
Participate in meetings with customer and suppliers.
Perform activities relative to Company & Group needs.
Check and approve drawings.
Employees’s awareness of their impact on product quality and the importance of their activities in achieving, maintaining, and improving quality, including customer requirements and the risks involved for the customer with non-conforming product.
